Typesetting
I’ve typeset almost one thousand books in my career, including All You Can Ever Know, The Beadworkers, Desert Notebooks, Fake Accounts, Vanishing Twins, and Who We’re Reading When We’re Reading Murakami. Each book interior I design is informed by the author’s work, and my typesetting services include taking a manuscript from a Word document to fully packaged InDesign natives ready to send to print.
Copyediting
I copyedit with an eye for accuracy, clarity, and—first and foremost—the author’s voice. I have collaboratively developed house style guides and adapt easily to various house styles. I copyedit with Word’s Track Changes and provide a detailed style sheet that will aid the proofreader and cold reader in their work.
Training
When I worked in-house, I trained interns and other employees in copyediting, InDesign fundamentals, and typesetting. I now develop custom trainings in these areas, tailoring the content and length to the specific needs and interests of the group.
Consulting
Over the course of my career, I’ve developed various processes to improve workflows in production departments. Whether you’re bringing production in-house for the first time or trying to streamline an existing department, I can help develop best practices to make production as structured and efficient as possible.
